WHAT DO YOU THINK?
President Obama says American kids spend too little time in school, putting them at a disadvantage with other students around the globe. He has suggested that students have longer school days and shorter summer vacation. What are your thoughts?Do you see any advantages to this? Why or why not?

I wouldn't like to go to school for more days because I don't get to see my dad much anyways and then I will not see him more. JOE

ReplyDeleteI think Obabma is crazy because we go to school long enough as it is. That would be way too much for students and we would be exhausted by the end of the day. We barely have enough time to do our homework now, so if our days were shortened and the teachers gave us homework, we wouldn't be able to finish.

ReplyDeleteI wouln't want to be in school longer because we would have to pay more taxes just for all the electricity and the stuff we use. Also, I wouldn't like to go to school longer because I think that just because of the economic situation we are in I don't think we would have enough money to pay the teachers. Lastly, I don't like being in certain classes too and why take away our vacation time? What if people actually use it wisley? -Victorria

ReplyDeleteI honestly see no advantages to this idea. The only reason that the other kids are doing so much better then we are is because most american kids don't pay enough attention which would cause them a lower score. We spend plenty of time in school already.

I think that BARACK OBAMA is CRAZY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just because the other countries think they are smarter than us, it doesn't mean that we need more time. And what about sports practice I bearly have enough time to see my family and to do my homework. VICTOR

ReplyDeletei think is not right for some people cause people are in sports and at what time would we have practice. at night (hahahaha)........... no!!!!!!!!!!! then if we practice at night at what time would we do home work?............its not cool extending the year of school. its not smart for the president to do that. what would the people think about him imagine the secound time he tries to get elected no body would vote for him not even his daughters,they would be against him. so i say to not do that cause it makes him not be smart.

I think We Already Have enough time In School. Also Students and Teachers shoud Have free time to spend with family and friends.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading a book called "Beastly" that is like beauty and the beast, but it's in our time of year. There's a guy named Kyle that is rich & is stuck up. Then later on he messed with the wrong girl not knowing that she was a witch. The girl's name was Kendra and she cast a spell on him but an order to break the spell he has to find true love.
